Scottsdale Public Library – May News by quotes

We are fast approaching the really heated days of summer here in Scottsdale.  We hope to see you soon when you sign up the family for Summer Reading, check out a free DVD or even wish to escape to one of our quiet (cool) corners to enjoy a book.  Have a great summer.- Rita Hamilton, Library Director

You can get a fast book this summer without leaving the comfort of your Escalade’s Italian leather cooled to a breezy 72 degrees…Remember our Mustang and Arabian libraries have drive-thru window service available. Just reserve your selected items online designate your location as the pick-up window, then grab them at the window when they are ready. Perhaps we should look into a soft serve ice cream machine though….hum.

Remember to get the youngsters signed up for the Summer Reading program. Kids can read their way to super cool prizes. We have programs for the littlest of folk all the way up to your age, Mom and Dad. So get those urchins to turn off the tube and to pick up a tome. How’s that for alliteration? Check out our Summer Reading Programs

Know who Jack Reacher is?
Well, Mr. Reacher is apparently quite indestructible because he is appearing again in the 13th book of author Lee Child’s series. Child will be at the Scottsdale Public Library to talk about his newest book Gone Tomorrow in which our friend Jack is involved in a terrorist plot in NYC.

Also appearing with Child is Andrew Grant – talking about his debut thriller Even in which an intelligence officer gets set up for murder. Please join these two authors for an evening benefiting the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library. Tickets and books can be purchased through the Poisoned Pen Bookstore.

Wed., May 27 at 7 p.m. at Civic Center Library
