SCOTTSDALE TO HOST NINTH ANNUAL GREEN BUILDING EXPO EVENT THIS FALL.

This year’s event will highlight a wide array of environmentally sound solutions for government agencies, businesses and citizens. The 2006 Green Building Expo event will include 50-60 exhibitor booths that feature innovative building techniques, indoor environmental quality products such as paints and flooring materials, energy efficient windows and insulations for walls and attics. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet professionals who have implemented rain water harvesting systems and gray water systems, photo voltaic panels, edible gardens and green remodeling, all of which can contribute to savings of natural resources and money on electric and water bills. Solar incentives and legislative updates will be presented as well as displays of fuel efficient vehicles such as the Smart Car and the battery-operated Zebra. The event will be held Friday through Saturday, October 6 and 7, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second Street. The Friday schedule runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Additional information on the free event is available at http://www.greenbuildingexpo.com.

657-PA-2006 – Use Permit request for Stearns Financial Services at 8900 E. Bahia Dr.
Request Conditional Use  Permit  for a bank.  The approx. 2.6 acre site is currently vacant, with the proposed building to be one 3 story building of approx. 41, 200 square feet.

658-PA-2006 – Development Review request for Hotel Scottsdale at 5101 N. Scottsdale Rd.
Request to renovate the existing Fairfield Inn  into a mid-range Boutique Hotel.  Exterior changes include exterior paint color change, new railings, balcony modifications, new tile roof features etc.
