You can be part of a long-standing Scottsdale tradition by volunteering for Mighty Mud Mania.

Scottsdale presents the 34th edition of Mighty Mud Mania on July 17 at
Chaparral Park. More than 200 volunteers are needed to get down and dirty to help ensure that the event succeeds and that all the children, ages 1 to 17, have a great time! Shifts start as early as 5 a.m. and end as late as 6 p.m.

Muddy and not-so muddy jobs are available. All volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and will receive a free MMM T-shirt or tank top. Deadline to sign-up is Thursday, July 3.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OCT. 5-6 GREEN BUILDING EXPO by azhttp

Volunteers are needed for the 10th Annual Green Building Expo taking place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

The Expo features exhibits, presentations and demonstrations of green building and sustainable living concepts for both residential and commercial applications.

Scottsdale Job Network (SJN) is a group of job seekers and others volunteering their time to help them in their career transitions.

The group attracts speakers from industry, technology, government, finance, coaching and recruiting to discuss job search fundamentals including developing a marketing plan, writing a resume, networking and interviewing.

The value of the SJN lies in the skills, business networks and personal passions of our members. Membership is open to everyone willing to share their skills and anyone interested in local networking or in need of employment transition support. Attendance is required at one meeting to become a member.

Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM at Temple Chai, 4645 E. Marilyn Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032.

Scottsdale Job Network is planning a Beach Party (without the ocean) at the Tuesday, July 3 meeting, 9:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M.

 

Members are encouraged to leave business attire at home.  Arrive early (9 AM) for networking and socializing–come dressed in casual clothes.  Shorts, sun dresses, floral shirts, patriotic colors, plus sun glasses and straw hats are the preferred dress code!

Scottsdale Public Library ReVentures program seeks Boomers for volunteer projects

(Scottsdale, AZ) – The Scottsdale Public Library’s innovative volunteer program geared for the Boomer generation is recruiting for upcoming program projects. Specifically, ReVentures seeks people with an interest in participating in the group’s fall 2007 signature project, The Vietnam Experience. This project will consist of a series of events, programs and exhibits that will tell the story of the Vietnam War from those who were directly involved.

Volunteers are needed for event planning, presentations, event coordination, marketing and many other project areas.
