Scottsdale City Court Judge Wendy S. Morton will receive the Award of
Judicial Excellence from the State Bar of Arizona’s Public Lawyer’s Section at the organization’s convention on June 26.
The award is given annually to honor a judicial officer who demonstrates a dedication and commitment to improving the justice system and who has demonstrated high ideals, personal character and judicial competence. In addition to serving on the bench in Scottsdale since 2006, Judge Morton is in her 12th year as a regional coordinator for the Arizona State High School Mock Trial Program, co-chairs the 2009 Arizona State Bar Convention Committee, and serves on the Judicial College of Arizona’s Continuing Judicial Education and Judicial Conference Committees.
Judge Morton has also served as a faculty member for New Judge Orientation program and the State Bar Leadership Institute/Meet the Bench.
