CUSTOMER ALERT: New After-Hours Inspection Process & Fee goes into effect

Nov. 1, 2007

INFORMATION ONLY: Starting Nov. 1, 2007 the city of Scottsdale will begin

assessing a new inspection fee to cover the costs associated with

after-hours emergency/inspections

Effective November 1, 2007, the city of Scottsdale Inspection Services

division will begin assessing an after-hours emergency inspection fee to

ensure accountability of developers, utility companies and their

sub-contractors working within city of Scottsdale easements and

rights-of-way. This procedural change will help ensure that life safety

issues are proactively addressed in a consistent and timely manner. In the

past, city inspectors have responded to issues dealing with barricades,

street-plating, sink holes etc. as a courtesy. In an effort to provide

better service to Scottsdale citizens, developers/utilities/sub-contractors

that work within city of Scottsdale easements and right-of-ways, will now be

charged an after hour inspection fee of $205per/hr. (The standard fee for

after-hours inspections).

As part of this new process, Scottsdale’s Inspection Services division will

provide access to a city inspector from 3:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. 7 days a week

via an emergency pager.
