Registration is under way for the city’s free Neighborhood College courses. The program

provides residents, neighborhood groups and homeowners associations with the

information and resources needed to become effective neighborhood leaders.

Schedule of upcoming classes (pre-registration required):

** Creating a Sense of Community through Neighborhood Watch, Neighborhood

Clean Ups and Block Watch. 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Via

Linda Senior Center, Room No. 6, 10440 E. Via Linda

** The Revitalization of Scottsdale. Learn about the tools and resources

necessary for the revitalization, restoration and renewal of southern area

residential and commercial properties. 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 20, at the Granite

Reef Senior Center, Room. No. , 1700 N. Granite Reef Road.

** Urban Wildlife, Roof Rats & Mosquitoes – Addressing the new “lions,

tigers and bears” of Scottsdale. 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Mustang Library

Auditorium, 10101 N 90th St.

** Code Enforcement Basics – Zoning, property maintenance, housing, signage,

graffiti and construction activity regulations are all found in the City of

Scottsdale’s Revised Codes. 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Granite Reef

Senior Center, Room No. 7, 1700 N Granite Reef Road.
