The public is invited to an open house and panel discussion featuring experts on

sustainable transportation as part of the city’s Transportation Master Plan

process. The panel and open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday,

Sept. 19, at the Granite Reef Senior Center, Room No. 1, 1700 N. Granite

Reef Road. Panelists Phil Allsopp, Chief Executive Officer of Taliesin

West, Aaron Golub, ASU associate professor of planning and sustainability,

and Jim Charlier of Boulder, Colorado, president of Charlier Associates,

Inc. will present and discuss transportation ideas about sustainability.

The Transportation Master Plan will address community transportation needs

and objectives over the next 20-25 years. At the Sept. 19 open house,

information about preliminary recommendations of the Transportation Master

Plan will be available for review and comment. An additional open house

regarding the transportation master plan is planned for October.
