CITY HOSTS SEPT. 25 OPEN HOUSE TO DISCUSS VALET ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS. by azhttp

The city is hosting an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 25 to discuss proposed

Valet Ordinance changes. The meeting will take place in the Downtown Group

Office, 4248 N. Craftsman Court, No. 200. The Valet Ordinance changes are

intended to improve the application process, increase enforceability,

provide a short term license and limit the city’s liability. Specific

changes include increasing application fees, increasing the garage keepers

insurance limits from $50,000 to $75,000, and including provisions to make

the valet company owner directly responsible and citable for offenses the

company attendants commit. Comments on the proposed changes can be made by

calling Madeline Clemann, Downtown transportation services manager, at (480)

312-2732, or by e-mailing her at mclemann@ScottsdaleAZ.gov or sending

comments via U.S. Postal service to the address listed above. To view the

current ordinance, visit www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/codes/valet.asp. Please

provide comments no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 5.
