HEARING SCHEDULE CHANGED FOR PROPOSED LAND USE MEASURES
The hearing schedule has been changed for a proposal regulating how private schools, churches and other large assemblies operate in Scottsdale residential areas.
The change was made to permit more public discussion and feedback. The city’s Planning Commission was originally scheduled to discuss the proposal at its Wednesday, Aug. 23, meeting. That hearing has been proposed to early fall to permit city staff more time to meet with interested individuals and community groups about the proposed changes.
Case 5-TA-2006 is a proposed change to the city’s Zoning Ordinance that would modify regulations and requirements for large assembly uses such as private schools, colleges, universities, churches and places of worship, community building and private recreational uses located in areas zoned single-family residential districts.
The proposed additional regulations are intended to address neighborhood impacts related to parking, circulation and hours of operation of large assembly land uses.
