STORM RECOVERY EFFORTS CONTINUE IN SCOTTSDALE
Scattered electrical outages continued this morning in a Scottsdale area hit hard by Tuesday’s monsoon storm. Most of the homes are in an area bordered by McDowell and Thomas roads, Scottsdale Road and 64th Street.
These roads remain closed to allow Salt River Project crews to complete repairs to downed power poles and lines:
** 64th Street, between McDowell and Thomas roads
** 68th Street, between Oak Street and Thomas Roads
** Oak Street, between 60th and 64th streets
SRP expects to have most repairs completed by this evening, said utility officials.
City crews from many departments, including social services, police and fire, are in the damaged areas assisting residents with recovery efforts.
Residents in storm areas with any social service need can call or visit the city’s Paiute Neighborhood Center, located at 6535 E. Osborn Road. The phone number is (480) 312-2529. The center will be open until 9 p.m. tonight and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
