North Tempe Multigenerational Center opens July 31
TEMPE, Ariz. – Children, seniors and all ages in between will find a
haven for recreating, socializing and learning when the North Tempe
Multigenerational Center opens July 31. The 30,000-square-foot facility
is located at 1555 N. Bridalwreath St., south of McKellips Road and east
of Scottsdale Road.
The center will be formally dedicated by members of the Tempe City
Council and the community on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9 a.m. It will be
fully operational beginning July 31.
The North Tempe Multigenerational Center includes a fitness center,
senior center, library resource center, computer lab, gymnasium and
community classrooms. The Tempe Elementary School District, Tempe
Community Action Agency, the Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley,
Tempe Family YMCA, Chicanos Por La Causa, Maricopa County Head Start,
ASU College of Nursing and the City of Tempe have partnered to provide
various programs at the facility. Programs are available for all age
groups from preschool to older adult.
Each week, the facility’s hours of operation will be: Monday – Thursday
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
and Sunday 1-6 p.m. For more information, call 480-858-6500.
