CITY COUNCIL APPROVES SKYSONG LEASE AMENDMENT ADDING APARTMENTS
The Scottsdale City Council on Monday, July 10, approved lease amendments to allow residential units to be built at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Center for Innovation.
Under the amendments, the city’s financial obligations to build infrastructure at the site would decrease by about $3 million initially and more if additional residential development occurs. Residences would not displace any of the 1.2 million square feet in office and commercial development planned at SkySong, at the southeast corner of McDowell and Scottsdale roads. The Development Review Board is now set to consider the design of up to 325 proposed apartments on July 20 and August 24.
